However, we do believe that adaptogens (functional mushrooms and herbs) can support you in remembering your magic while calming your system. We also believe that by creating solutions that break the cycles of certain stress-inducing addictions like caffeine/coffee, we are further supporting you in your journey.

My name is Jeremy Hoffmann, the founder of Oasis Adaptogens. I personally struggled heavily with stress and many of the side effects chronic stress can bring. This isn’t my victim story or sob story so I will save you the details. I am grateful to have gone through what I did so I could support humanity in solutions to these problems.

After creating adaptogen formulations in my kitchen, and progressing to advise other wellness companies as a Chief Innovation Officer on formulations and business development, I knew it was time to build the vision that was coming through me. Everything was aligned in a way I couldn't disregard.

The path to well-being:

Life is happening for you, not to you. This is a simple statement that truly packs a punch. What if the situations that create stress and anxiety are red flags that we are overseeing? Oversights to things we should be paying attention to?

We have found that often people think they want to change, but when it comes down to it they aren’t willing to make the choices that inspire true change in their lives.

We noticed that people can feel overwhelmed with “needing” to make changes in their lives because it feels like such a daunting task.

Right now at this moment, we would like to suggest a new perspective in how you see change. 

There are two main perspectives:

You are not the victim of your story, the world is not out to get you. The world is designed to trigger you, to test you, so that through this process you reclaim your energy and power. If you can begin the process of believing that life is happening for you to learn and grow from, instead of making your life challenging and miserable, you instantly shift your perspective from victim to victor. Life is happening for you, not to you. Take a moment to repeat this mantra. See how it feels.

If you are wanting to feel better in your life. To amp up our wellness, mind, body, and soul, then you need to take the time for yourself to align your intention with true action. The key here is to remember that building momentum takes time, it takes discipline. Whether this is spending 5 minutes a day in the form of a daily routine, opting for a drink that has less sugar, or working towards cutting down on a certain addiction bit by bit. Starting in any capacity in your wellness journey can be baby steps, but this is your sign to begin in whichever way feels most authentic to you.

There are two main perspectives:

  • Reducing screen time on your phone → Reading a book.
  • Cutting down on an addiction you are aware of, think smoking, vaping, drinking.
  • Eating less processed foods, per day, per week, per month, that’s up to you.
  • Spending 5 minutes a day learning something new that interests you.

Stress is silently affecting almost all of us. A recent study shows that 75-90% of all doctor visits are related to stress. Let that sink in.

What is stress?

Stress can be defined as any type of change that causes physical, emotional, or psychological strain. Stress is your body's response to anything that requires attention or action. 

The great news is that stress depends more specifically on how you are going to deal with the situation in front of you rather than the situation itself. So as we learn how to adapt more effectively to stress we lease its negative effects on us.

Understanding sleep habits:

Sleep is said to be one of the most important health and wellness tools that we have access to. However, too many of us are having trouble sleeping, or even though we are “asleep” aren’t getting into a deep enough state of rest to heal and recharge.

It is possible that a reason we aren’t dropping into a deep rem sleep is because of the long half-life that caffeine has in our bodies. Now you might not notice the actual effects of caffeine, but it affects your body’s ability to know if it is tired or not. It stays active in your system for up to 12 hours. This means if you have a full dose of caffeine 12-3 pm in the afternoon, it is most definitely affecting your sleep cycle whether you know it or not.

Another lifehack for sleeping more effectively is to cut out any screen time at least 1 hour before you go to bed. The blue light from your screens signals to your body that it is daytime so your brain doesn’t produce melatonin which helps you relax and sleep.

Tips:

  • Reduce the amount of caffeine you intake, especially in the afternoons
  • Reduce or cut out screen time 1 hour before bed
  • Spend 10 minutes breathing, stretching, or reading right before bed. Bonus points if you do all of them at the same time ;)
